International. Mitsubishi Electric El has unveiled its new residential solutions for this year, including the world's only two-pipe HVRF system.
This variable refrigerant flow system, marketed under the name Hybrid VRF, can be adapted to various usage requirements and has a wide variety of applications such as hotels, offices, hospitals, multi-family housing, schools and nursing homes.
Hybrid VRF uses City Multi N-Generation outdoor units. The air or water source units are connected to the Hybrid Branch Controller (HBC) using a two-pipe coolant system, allowing for simultaneous heating and cooling.
Similarly, Hybrid VRF exchanges heat between refrigerant and water using the HBC controller, which reduces the total refrigerant charge in the system and keeps the interior space piping free of refrigerant.
The solution allows the user to choose between air or water source units to achieve the highest efficiency. Also, like traditional VRF, HVRF is scalable, making it suitable for buildings of any size.
