Peru. Friopacking was awarded and implemented a new ammonia-glycol-based refrigeration system in the fresh grape processing plant of the company Agrokasa.
Spokespersons for Friopacking reported that last year they carried out two projects with Agrokasa, with the grape plant being the first to be concluded. "These milestones highlight Agrokasa's continued confidence in our expertise and ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions", they said.
In turn, engineer Julio César Flores Medina, head of Maintenance at Agrokasa, explained that the initiative arose from the need to expand the capacity of the facilities, by virtue of the wide extension of productive crops.
"We told Friopacking's technical team about the conditions we had to carry out the project. Thus, it was determined that the best thing to do was to work with an ammonia system, due to the low maintenance and energy costs, as well as the refrigeration capacity that was required," he said.
Process control
Previously, Agrokasa had a thermometric management system that became obsolete, due to the growth of the operation. For this reason, Friopacking provided a new scheme tailored to the current needs of the company.
"We talked to the Friopacking team and they determined that the best solution was the Mamut cooling software and system. We have worked with them twelve tunnels of finished product and at this time we have a very precise control of the temperature gradients", added Engineer Flores Medina.
