Mexico. The company Eaton reported that it allocated US $85 million to expand its manufacturing operations at its facility located in Querétaro.
This initiative will lead to the creation of 300 new jobs and a 50% increase in production capacity. The start of the works to expand the existing infrastructure is planned for the first months of 2024.
"The solutions we are producing in Queretaro are essential to reliable and resilient energy", said Mike Yelton, president for Eaton's Electric Sector Americas Region. "We are leveraging hard-earned experience as well as the innovation and excellence of our regional teams. We are thrilled to expand our operations to meet the growing demand from electric utilities across the Americas", he added.
The works
To increase production of its underground protective connectors, Eaton will expand its facility in Querétaro by 28,194 square meters and add new injection presses and manufacturing equipment. The plant currently produces equipment for underground power lines such as lightning switches and connectors.
With this investment, Eaton adds an estimated US $750 million in recent investments in North America and increases the supply of transformers, voltage regulators and electrical assemblies including substations, control panels and switches.
