International. SODECA SLU, a company focused on solutions in industrial ventilation, smoke evacuation, indoor air quality and pressurization of stairs, will invest 6 million euros in the second phase of construction of its facilities in Ripoll (Girona).
The new SODECA production center will have an area of 4,950m², with which the company will expand its facilities, reaching 10,165 m² built.
This investment, which as previously explained will have a budget of 6 million euros, will double the production capacity of the company, "since the area used so far as a warehouse will be used as a production plant; unifying the warehouses in a single location, thus optimizing the production processes making them more efficient and sustainable with an automated warehouse "AutoStore" of last generation".
In the same way, SODECA confirmed that this project helps reduce the carbon footprint, since it will eliminate truck journeys between the different warehouses and production centers, "thus contributing to the fight against climate change".
On the other hand "the great commitment to sustainability is reflected with the installation of more than 500 photovoltaic panels that will avoid the emission of approximately 122 tons of CO2 per year, thus allowing the facilities to have the maximum energy rating, operating during a large part of the productive day with renewable energies".
Finally, this enlargement also implies new sources of employment. The company projects, in this sense, an increase of between 25 and 30 jobs in Ripoll.
