United States. Ziehl-Abegg is investing $100 million to grow its energy-efficient fan offering in the markets of Mexico, Canada and the U.S.
The investment becomes the largest single amount the company has earmarked for a single location in the company's 113-year history. And it is the clear decision to support the production of their fans, which also offer to be silent and robust.
Dr. Marc Wucherer, CEO of ventilator manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg, commented, at the opening of the site: "This day marks the beginning of Ziehl-Abegg's $100 million investment in a new, state-of-the-art production facility for the North American market."
Regarding this brand, it is noteworthy that the growth of its offer in North America has allowed its plant in Greensboro (North Carolina) to accelerate its pace of expansion since its creation in 2004.
In the first 10 years, the number of Ziehl-Abegg employees in the country only grew from 0 to 40, but it highlights that in the last 8 years it has already increased from 40 to 230. That is why it was foreseen that by 2030 this company would have 800 people working. Hence the importance of the new headquarters of Ziehl-Abegg USA, as it will be responsible for North America and supporting eleven sales offices to serve the US, Mexico and Canadian markets.
Mirco Herrmann, U.S. Managing Director of Ziehl-Abegg, reported that "in addition to data centers, product application areas include heating and cooling systems, cleanrooms and agricultural systems."
Data of the new plant
The new plant, which will have an attached administrative building, will be located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. About 20 miles away the Greensboro plant. The new building is expected to have an area of 46,500 square meters, and to be ready in 2024. The plans are that by 2025 the existing production plant will be moved to this new headquarters.
According to the company, they will expand their capabilities and their level of vertical integration. "Thanks to a fully autonomous production system, starting with the engines, we will be able to offer our customers a high degree of flexibility and short delivery times. In the medium term, the company expects to establish itself as a development center with a laboratory in Winston-Salem, said Mirco Herrmann, chief operating officer of Ziehl-Abegg.
