Chile. More than 100 exhibitors and 300 brands nationally and internationally participated in the 5th. Edition of the Expo Frío Calor Chile, which took place between June 29 and July 1.
National and international experts highlighted the importance and challenge that the air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration industry has to take its technological development towards a market with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
With regard to ventilation, the importance that the item has taken due to the need to maintain adequate levels of air quality inside closed environments, whether public or private, was stressed as a fundamental measure to combat the presence of viruses, bacteria and other contaminants. Here, they highlighted the innovations linked to the use of renewable energies, environmental care and low energy consumption.
"The world of HVAC-R had to change its paradigms due to the pandemic and take on great challenges with a view to the future to face the new demands of the market. In the field of air conditioning, a constant need to improve indoor air quality began and the mere fact of the existence of teleworking has already generated an increase in the demand for domestic air conditioning solutions, "said Klaus Peter Schmid, president of the Chilean Chamber of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning A.G.
Regarding the refrigeration industry, the expert explains that "it was necessary to increase the stored volumes of products and raw materials, both fresh and frozen, as a result of some stock breaks and logistical problems generated by the quarantines." And within the framework of the expo, the tendency to join initiatives that are more respectful of the planet was demonstrated, understanding its relevance in the protection of medical and pharmacological supplies, the food sector, among many others.
