Costa Rica. The sixth edition of the National Congress of Climatización Refricon 2022 was successfully held, held in San José on May 14, organized by Refrimundo, and where around 200 professionals from all over the national territory met, with the aim of expanding their knowledge and updating themselves with relevant information for the air conditioning market.
Contractors, developers, consultants, representatives of construction companies, architects, engineers, air conditioning technicians and key customers of Refrimundo, had the opportunity to live the Refricon experience. In addition, they expanded their knowledge through four conferences focused on economic reactivation and on different topics of updating information on the current situation of the country and its implications on the industry, given by national and international speakers of very high level.
With an agenda full of knowledge and dynamism, the event opened with a forum sponsored and directed by the ACR Latin America Magazine, where the engineer Luis Rodolfo Innes Alonso, president of the ASHRAE CDMX Chapter 2021-2022; engineer Fabio Clavijo, President of Tecnaire Ltda. Colombia, co-founding leader of ACAIRE (Colombian Association of Refrigeration Air Conditioning), as well as founder and president of ASHRAE Colombia Chapter (2010-2011, 2017-2019); engineer Dennis La Touche, founding director of Sinergia Ingeniería in Costa Rica, and engineer William Sánchez Chacón, professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Costa Rica. In this forum, moderated by Duván Chaverra, Editorial Director of the magazine ACR Latin America, various topics were developed about trends and conjuncture of the HVAC market in the new normal at national and international level, with a highly participatory audience the engineers managed to cover topics of great interest to all present.
Subsequently, Dr. Pilar Alfaro Monge, from MINAE (Ministries of Environment and Energy), gave a conference on the advances and challenges in the field of environment and energy, in the Air Conditioning sector at the national level. Subsequently, the economist and MPA Jairo S. Mena Arce, who is an Economist at the Chamber of Commerce of Costa Rica, provided detailed information on the behavior of foreign trade, current reality and future projections, all this related to the latest world events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The closing of the conferences was in charge of Daniel Suchar Zomer – PhD in Business Sciences and financial analyst; Dr. Suchar, with his energy and optimism, presented extensively the topic "Challenges for Costa Rica in the face of the global and national environment of 2022-2023", leading the audience to understand the financial situation that is expected in the coming months.
Refricon, apart from gathering a very varied audience, was also in charge of bringing together representatives of the brands it represents such as Samsung, P3, Aspen, Cooltek, Soler & Palau, Italsan, Innes, Berner and Maxi Pro, which brought to the country the latest in their products, showed them to the visitors of the congress and had the opportunity to discuss technical issues on all products.
This event was completely free, and sponsored by the participating brands mentioned above, thanks to them the day closed with the raffles of valuable gifts granted by these brands.
