Brazil. Daikin announced the acquisition of the industrial plant, located in Manaus (AM), confirming the commitment to invest in Brazil, part of the celebration of the company's tenth anniversary in this country.
According to Roberto Yi, president of Daikin Brasil, the acquisition of the factory is part of the celebration of Brazil's 10th anniversary and the continuity of investments made in the country in recent years; in addition to the Training Center in São Paulo (SP), the exhibition halls in the branches of Porto Alegre (RS), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Brasilia (DF) and Recife (PE), inaugurated in 2019.
"We announce a new step that expresses our intention to continue to believe in Daikin's growth in the country. Our parent company welcomes these investments, although it also understands that the market is becoming increasingly challenging. With the rising cost of electricity and the recent water crisis, the use of high-efficiency products should be encouraged and made available to Brazilian consumers and therefore we bring the most modern products in the world," says Yi.
The manufacturing plant has about 45,000 square meters, with local production of high-tech residential and light commercial equipment, with capacities ranging from 9,000 to 48,000 Btu/h. The land also supports future expansion, both in the production line and in storage, totaling an area of 90 thousand square meters.
Recently, the factory underwent an upgrade to its production line to produce the newest Split EcoSwing Smart R-32, which operates on R-32 fluid. Over the next few years, the company will migrate from R-410A fluid to R-32, locally producing what is most modern in the Brazilian HVAC-R market.
"The country continues to suffer the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, but we are already seeing a movement of the civil construction market, which opens up opportunities for the HVAC-R sector. We are optimistic that there will soon be a strong recovery and we will be able to resume our growth prospects," celebrates the president of Daikin Brazil.
EcoSwing Smart R-32 split line
In line with technological innovation and sustainable development, last May Daikin launched the new EcoSwing Smart line of residential unit splits with R-32 refrigerant fluid, produced at its manufacturing plant in Manaus (AM). In this first phase, the R-32 will be used on the Split Hi Wall line, and the transition to the Multi Split line is already planned.
The Split EcoSwing Smart operates at capacities (9,000 Btu/h, 12,000 Btu/hy 18,000 Btu/h), in the Only Cold and Hot/Cold versions, promoting greater energy efficiency (Line performance in INMETRO: IDRS up to 7.2 – Class A at 2026 level) and lower environmental impact, as well as being 16% cheaper compared to the Split Advance line. It integrates the EcoSwing compressor, developed specifically for use with the R-32, is more efficient and has less vibration.
It uses neodymium magnets, a variable reluctance DC motor, which is 20% more efficient than traditional inverter compressor motors, resulting in higher capacity with lower power consumption. It integrates double filtration of silver ions that eliminates bacteria, odors and keeps the air in the environment safe and clean. Through the Daikin Smart AC app, the equipment can be monitored and controlled remotely using a smartphone.
Training Center
With investments of US$2 million, the Daikin Training Center, located in the city of São Paulo, has 2,100 m2 of built area, dedicated to technical and commercial training. The space was developed to receive around 160 students a day, every day, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
The Training Center, which has qualified teachers, is composed of three floors, divided into laboratories for training products, from residential equipment, to large-scale equipment such as Chillers, including Splits, Multi Splits, Sky Air and VRV Fit / Innovates; Services and brazing of spaces; 4 classrooms; Automation space with training in IoT (Internet of Things), integrated with utilities such as lighting and air conditioning; as well as a library.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with face-to-face classes suspended, Daikin has been carrying out, through the Training Center, a series of actions to combat global warming and contribute to a more sustainable planet, with online training, even for the new generation of equipment. with the R-32.
