Samsung Air Conditioner Uses Artificial Intelligence to Identify Habits

WindFree Plus

Latin America. Samsung's WindFree Plus is an air conditioning device with high levels of connectivity and artificial intelligence. Connectivity is related to the communication of a product with other devices of different categories through WiFi connections or Internet of Things – it is like our conventional internet, but designed to integrate electronics. WindFree Plus brings it already installed and programmed from the factory, ready to use, while in most competitors it is necessary to acquire a specific system and part for automation.

In the case of WindFree Plus, connectivity can be explored through the SmartThings app, which controls all connected Samsung devices. It serves as a remote control for air conditioning even if the user is away from home. It is possible to create scenes for certain times of the day or specific situations and program the remote operation so that the environments are refreshed while the consumer is on the way back home.

SmartThings can be downloaded on smartphones or tablets and is even available on Samsung Smart TVs, and can be operated by voice command via the Bixby³ virtual assistant, also developed by Samsung. Other virtual assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant also support the basic features of WindFree Plus. Samsung Multi Split and VRF models can also be adapted for SmartTthings connectivity functions. In this line, it is necessary to acquire a Wi-Fi Kit that integrates all indoor units.

Artificial intelligence, on the other hand, involves identifying usage patterns and the various reactions that the product can present from these patterns. In the case of WindFree Plus it is able to analyze the temperature and air velocity of the consumer's favorite and create a specific way of operating, which can also vary depending on the time of day and the humidity of the air. With all the information collected, the device can apply this usage pattern automatically, without the user having to choose every detail with the remote control.

"The high demand for connected products with AI features shows how the concepts of connected living and smart homes have gained traction in recent times. Therefore, it is important that the entire market knows these specifications and knows how to transmit the advantages of connectivity and artificial intelligence to the consumer, "says Thiago Dias, Director of the Air Conditioning Division of Samsung Brazil.
