Daikin Announces Name Change and Organizational Realignment in North America

Daikin North America

United States. Daikin's unitary, ductless and light commercial products (including VRV) organization in North America is unifying its core Daikin, Goodman and Amana HVAC brands under a new corporate name and structure, which will take effect on April 1, 2022.

"We are coming together under one name, Daikin Comfort Technologies, capturing a culture and identity that reflects a vision that will create an even stronger, more unified Daikin," explains Satoru Akama, CEO of Daikin. "By merging Daikin's strengths, core technologies and environmental solutions with Goodman's strong and extensive sales and distribution network, we will enrich our customers' experience, improve organizational efficiency, and transform the North American HVAC market by promoting environmental solutions that impact the people where they live. they work, and play," continues Takayuki "Taka" Inoue, Daikin's director of sales and marketing.

"Daikin, Goodman, Amana and Quietflex® will remain and play an important role in our product brands in the future," says Inoue. "Aligning our structure into a single business unit enables collaboration, innovation and agility internally and, more importantly, meets the needs of our customers."

Daikin's environmental commitment
Within Daikin Comfort Technologies is a newly formed group, the Environmental Promotion Office, led by Nathan Walker, SVP, reporting to CEO, Satoru Akama. The team will intensify Daikin's approach to becoming the industry leader as an advanced environmental company. "It's an ambitious and achievable goal," says Akama.

Organizational Realignment
"Our North American operation has more than doubled in revenue since the acquisition of Goodman and is now the largest of all Daikin entities in the world, making North America one of Daikin's top priorities for investing and growing," explains Inoue. "It also comes with a tremendous sense of responsibility to run as a company and a culture."

A more unified sales strategy can ensure that Daikin, Amana or Goodman branded teams can be a compelling offering for prime contractors to serve both premium and value customers.

Daikin's realignment also seeks to create an even stronger customer experience across its business, including transformation through digital solutions and tools, differentiated inventory and logistics implementation capabilities, and more advanced service and support.
