International. Reliable Controls has introduced a new generation of building controllers with the launch of the RC-FLEXair VAV controller.
The culmination of 2 years and tens of thousands of hours of research and development, the free-to-program RC-FLEXair is an ideal BACnet building controller for a wide range of room control and variable air volume applications.
James Puritch, vice president of research and development at Reliable Controls, had some lofty goals when he began developing the company's new RC-FLEX product family: Not only did he want to complement an existing hugely successful line of building controls: the MACH-Pro family, he also wanted to create a solid foundation for the company's next decade of hardware.
"The RC-FLEXair is the first of our RC-FLEX products, all built around a dual Ethernet connection architecture and multicore processors," said Puritch. "We've taken our more than 30 years of technology and integrated them into this new hardware and firmware platform. The RC-FLEXair is very effective for today's building automation system needs and is built to adapt to tomorrow's advances."
RC-FLEXair uses a new modular architecture with a Linux-based open source operating system that lays the foundation for faster new product development in the future, optimizing engineering and manufacturing and improving efficiency. With a high-performance multicore processor, tons of non-volatile memory, and dual Ethernet connectivity, the RC-FLEXair is a truly dynamic controller that will bring confidence to building owners for years to come.
