Mexico. Refrigeración Tijuana S. de R.L. de C.V, and Reefer Service of Hudsonville, Michigan, were named Carrier Transicold's 2020 distributors of the year for Latin America and North America, respectively.
"In a year that defied norms like never before, our entire dealer network adapted and responded with the kind of customer-focused performance required to serve an essential industry that is constantly on the move," said Mike Noyes, vice president and general manager, Truck Trailer Americas, Carrier Transicold.
In total, Carrier Transicold recognized 44 distributors and 6 employees in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile and the Caribbean with 64 awards for achievement in customer satisfaction, growth, investment and efficient service.
Among the award winners, Canadian distributor Atlantic Carrier Transicold of Moncton, New Brunswick, was recognized with the prestigious Extra Mile award for exemplary customer service.
Under the leadership of Juan Camacho as General Manager, this was the first award for Tijuana Refrigeration Distributor of the Year. "Refrigeración Tijuana's continuous improvement program paid remarkable dividends in 2020," said Jesús Estrada, regional director for Mexico and Latin America at Carrier Transicold, "with their team focused on providing exceptional service for the retail and food distribution businesses, they have achieved industry-leading growth throughout their region."
Established in 2005 to serve dairy, meat, fruit and vegetable carriers in Mexico's Baja California peninsula, Refrigeración Tijuana became a distributor of Carrier Transicold in 2013. For 2020, it also received a Brick and Mortar Award for investment in its facilities, and its employee Alberto Garcia was named Sales Manager of the Year for Latin America.
For Reefer Service, it was the second distributor of the year award for distribution, having received the first for its performance in 2006. "It was a big surprise and we're excited," said Mark Brown, general manager of Reefer Service, which is located southwest of Grand Rapids.
The award, he said, is a tribute to Reefer Service employees who "came together" to make the most of an exceptional year. Founded in 1982 and now in its thirtieth year as a Carrier Transicold distributor, Reefer Service provides temperature control for transportation and anti-idle solutions for fleets throughout Western Michigan from its 27,000-square-foot workshop and five service trucks.
