Mexico. The energy management company Eaton announced the opening of an assembly plant in Ciudad Juarez that will create more than 200 jobs in the region.
This new facility, which is known as ICD Frontera, is approximately 217,000 square feet and will assemble industrial control products that are used in a variety of market segments, including HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration), pumping, water/OEM wastewater, and machinery. Eaton's new facility will begin operations in the third quarter of this year and expects to be fully operational in the first quarter of 2022.
Eaton's new ICD Frontera facility is surrounded by the fastest growing residential and commercial areas in Juarez and a large pool of highly skilled labor.
"We are pleased to add new operations in the region," said Humberto Carrasco, Eaton's plant manager. "The opening of this facility will enhance Eaton's presence in the North American market and our ability to offer customers customized solutions. In addition to creating more than 200 jobs, the new facility represents an investment of more than $5 million in our regional economy."
Jon Barela, CEO of The Borderplex Alliance, said, "Eaton's expansion demonstrates the value proposition our region offers to businesses and entrepreneurs. We welcome Eaton and thank our partners in the Department of Innovation and Economic Development of the state of Chihuahua, Economic Development of Ciudad Juárez and the municipal government of Juárez. Their partnership and commitment to economic development made this announcement a reality."
Alvaro Bustillos, president of Economic Development of Ciudad Juarez, said, "Eaton's investment comes at just the right time. This announcement shows our commitment as a region to bring high value and quality investments to Ciudad Juarez. It also demonstrates the importance of the State of Chihuahua's investments and our unique value proposition as a region."
