Celebrations
"We held our first virtual, bilingual USGBC Leadership Awards ceremony that honored the teams and project organizations that are leading the way with Platinum achievements and corporate commitments. We celebrate outstanding projects like Iconica Cubos Luxury Living in Guadalajara, one of the global winners of the LEED Homes awards for 2020. We are very proud of the project teams that implemented green building design principles in a variety of projects: From an EDGE-certified hospital in Mexico that was built in just nine weeks to care for COVID-19 patients, to Brazil with the first LEED Zero Carbon and LEED Zero Water certified projects." commented Nicolette Bohnett, Director, Global Market Development, Latin America at the U.S. Green Building Council.
Virtual conferences and events
"Throughout the year we organize, co-organize and participate in virtual events and conferences. Nearly 2,000 people participated in the USGBC Virtual International Education Series in English and Spanish. The conference featured excellent content that is available upon request, such as this presentation on how buildings are the key to helping achieve national zero-carbon goals," Nicolette said.
