United States. Due to the high concentration of people, a growing concern among public transport users in resuming activities is how to use these means without being exposed to contamination caused by viruses and bacteria, especially Covid-19.
Some measures implemented, such as reducing the capacity of the metro and bus systems and allowing outside air to enter, are necessary, but not sufficient. To combat this problem, Dannenge International offers RGF Environmental's active PHI technology air purification systems, which neutralize airborne contaminants such as bacteria, fungi and viruses, including COVID-19.
Through studies conducted, RGF air purification systems reduce airborne pathogens by up to 99%. The device can be installed directly in an existing HVAC system or as a standalone unit, extensively tested for rail and transit operations with other applications in the first aid, school bus and application cart markets.
In some cities, this technology is already being implemented in public transport systems, such as the Green Bay terminal in the United States.
"When Covid-19 hit, we saw a huge impact on our public transport sector. We felt the need to focus our engineering on how we could help people safely return to their daily lives using public transportation. We would need an innovative product that increases the safety factor, decreasing the possibility of transmission to all parties involved: the public, as well as the frontline operators and employees who work on these vehicles every day," said Joe Mirabile, president and CEO of United Safety.
Green Bay Metro is one of the first public transit companies to implement RGF air purification systems to help ensure a virus-free environment. "We are very excited to have this new technology installed across all of our public transport. Green Bay Metro's top priority is to provide a safe environment for our riders and employees.
Transportation remains critical infrastructure and as we navigate these unprecedented times, it is critical that all users feel comfortable and safe on the go," said Patty Kiewiz, director of Green Bay Metro Transit.
