Brazil. Armstrong Fluid Technology has been awarded by the National Association of Metal Sheet and Air Conditioning Contractors (SMACNA) of Brazil with industry awards for its key role in two major projects.
SMACNA recognized Armstrong with its New Project of the Year Award for the company's participation in the Patteo Shopping Center in Olinda, Pernambuco. The company was also one of the winners of the SMACNA (Energy Upgrade) Modernization Project of the Year Award for its contributions to the Unique Hotel modernization project in Sao Paulo.
"We are very honored to be chosen for these prestigious industry awards that recognize Armstrong Fluid Technology's innovative energy-saving solutions," said Gabriel Covete, Armstrong's general manager for Latin America.
Covete said Armstrong collaborated with other HVAC/R manufacturers at the Patteo Mall to create an innovative air conditioning and ventilation system that incorporates advanced and efficient technologies. 21 Armstrong Design Envelope pumps were key components of the overall HVAC system.
Armstrong was also part of the team that created an innovative modernization of the Unique Hotel's Ice Water Plant (CAG) that has already resulted in 41 percent energy savings. In addition to his design and installation expertise, Armstrong supplied the project with seven Design Envelope Vertical In-Line vertical pumps.
