Chile. The president of the Chilean Chamber of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Peter Yufer, and the executive secretary, Juan Ricardo Abara, were invited to participate in a meeting held at the headquarters of BancoEstado, on support for the development of a strategy for investment projects in energy efficiency (including refrigeration and air conditioning) of companies in Chile, through the Energy Service Insurance (ESI) Model, developed by the IDB.
Also present at this meeting were Carla Romero, Deputy Manager of Sustainable Development, and Leonardo Ramírez, Sustainable Development Specialist at BancoEstado; as well as Rodrigo Chaparro, Daniel Magallon and Patricio Mansilla, consultants in the IDB's Markets and Finance Connectivity Division.
The ESI model includes several components that seek to build trust with clients, mitigate risks from their investments and provide access to financing on preferential terms. The IDB has been developing the ESI Model in several countries in the region and intends to replicate the model in Chile.
After this meeting, the Chamber received a request from BancoEstado-IDB to facilitate the work of the IDB's consulting team, who are working on the diagnosis that seeks to describe each of the suppliers in the area of energy efficiency to establish the characteristics of the offer.
Therefore, interested partners are invited to send an email to Patricio Mansilla [email protected] with the following information: company name, brief description of the main business areas, sectors in which it serves, main technologies offered, an example of important experience in energy efficiency, dimension of the project portfolio in terms of sales, main constraints for the implementation of US projects.
What is sought is to size the size of the market, the sectors and technologies that have greater dynamism in Chile.
