Brazil. Abrava (Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heating) recently formalized the creation of the Safety Committee for the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning sector.
The objective of the group is to discuss issues related to the safety in the use of refrigerant fluids with a focus on Handling, correct identification of refrigerant fluids and good practices during field maintenance.
For Paulo Neulaender, Vice President of Environment of ABRAVA, "The better the sector is informed and clarified, the more safety and quality in the provision of service will be of great value".
In the guideline of the Safety Committee the development of various actions focused on the "Handling and correct identification of refrigerant fluids" aimed at professionals in the sector, dissemination of information such as existing standards and procedures through communications, articles and social media, in addition to the development of an educational booklet with objective language for field professionals.
The group is made up of ABRAVA representatives linked to the National Departments of the Association, representatives of companies in the sector and professionals working in the area. For the next meetings, representatives of the Government, educational bodies, NGOs, such as the Ministry of the Environment, GIZ, SENAI, FATEC, among others, will be invited.
