International. Armacell announced the launch of ArmaGel HT, a new generation of a flexible aerogel blanket for high-temperature applications. The product is being manufactured at the company's facilities in Cheonan, South Korea, in an area of 21,206 m2.
The ArmaGel HT, which integrates the ArmaGel product range, enables high temperature applications up to 650 degrees Celsius. With its exceptionally low thermal conductivity, the product is one of the highest performing insulation materials available on the market, up to 75% thinner, ensuring thermal performance up to five times higher than competitors' insulation products.
According to Armacell, the ArmaGel HT will introduce new sizes of aerogel blankets to the market, catering to customer needs with more options. The 10mm thickness available today will be extended to the 5, 15 and 20mm bands until the end of 2018.
Benefits of the blanket
The ArmaGel HT offers several benefits. It is lightweight for improved handling and easier transport. For maintenance, product disposal is simplified, reducing downtime and avoiding the purchase of replacement insulation during regular maintenance cycles. It is easily cut and fits to the preferred shapes.
In addition, the product is hydrophobic and breathable, thus keeping the equipment drier for a long time. "Customers can improve corrosion protection under insulation by combining ArmaGel HT with Armacell's flexible closed-cell foam insulation, the Armaflex," explains Márcio Nieble, Managing Director of Armacell in Brazil.
According to the executive, effective insulation is an essential factor in the fight against climate change, as it is one of the simplest, fastest and most economical ways to improve energy efficiency. "The new product is environmentally safe, has no chlorides, can be disposed of in landfills. In addition, it has Armacell's innovative dust reduction technology, LoDust, the right solution for installers."
