International. Bitzer announced that it is expanding its product portfolio and acquires the shell and tube heat exchanger segment from Alfa Laval SpA, a company based in Alonte, northern Italy.
From the beginning of May, Bitzer will be the largest independent manufacturer in the shell and tube heat exchanger market worldwide. The contract between Bitzer Italia and Alfa Laval SpA was signed in Milan. "I am delighted to be able to welcome alfa Laval's casing and tube heat exchangers to the Bitzer family," says Gianni Parlanti, director of sales and marketing. The products purchased by Alfa Laval are designed for air conditioning and refrigeration applications and will therefore expand Bitzer's product portfolio.
Bitzer has been producing condensers for freshwater and marine applications since the 1950s. "With this acquisition, we expand our portfolio, as the evaporator technology manufactured in Alonte complements our existing product range. With this operation, Bitzer is becoming the largest independent manufacturer in the shell and tube heat exchanger market worldwide. Our goal is to become the technological leader in this segment by offering the market the latest solutions. To do this, we are building a state-of-the-art laboratory with highly qualified personnel," says Parlanti.
