International. Emirates SkyCargo, a cargo company of the Emirates Group of Dubai, opened specially built facilities at Dubai International Airport for the transport of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.
At 4,000 square metres, the SkyPharma facility is part of the new 11,000 square metre expansion of Emirates' SkyCentral terminal at the airport. The structure is also characterized by having temperature control zones with 88 Full Gauge Controls instruments managed through Sitrad software and five reception and delivery docks for trucks also with temperature controlled by the products of the Brazilian company.
Full Gauge Controls products helped Emirates SkyCargo to receive the certificate of conformity in accordance with the EU Good Distribution Practice guidelines for the transport of medicines, making them the first cargo airline in the world to obtain approval for its commercial aviation operations covering two airports, as well as for the truck transport service that connects them.
"Pharmaceuticals are among the most important we transport because of the impact on the lives of people and communities around the world," said Nabil Sultan, Senior Vice President, Cargo Division, Emirates. "As a leader in the global air cargo sector, we decided that it would be not only important to build modern cold chain facilities for the transport of pharmaceuticals, but also to go a little further and ensure the compliance of our operations with the highest international standards." completes the vice president.
Full Gauge Controls director Antonio Gobbi is very proud of the recent achievements. "We are part of the lives of thousands of people, guaranteeing, for example, the quality and safety of origin of food and medicines consumed around the world," he says.
