United States. Johnson Controls announced that it has joined the Cisco Digital Ceiling community as a founding building automation partner. The Digital Ceiling framework provides a platform that delivers a better user experience through the convergence of IT networks and building technologies, including lighting, heating, cooling, security, motion detection, and other sensors and actuators.
"Building owners and operators are looking for us to identify how technology can support their business outcomes, reduce costs and minimize risks," said Jim Nannini, vice president, BWSI, Johnson Controls. "As more data becomes available, Johnson Controls' systems integration capabilities enable building owners and operators to make more compelling decisions for smart, connected and secure buildings."
Johnson Controls shares Cisco's belief that the Digital Ceiling offers building owners and operators a way to apply the benefits of the Internet of Things across facilities, and create "transformative new experiences" for building users that significantly improve occupant productivity, safety and comfort.
