United States. The organization of the AHR Expo 2016, held on January 25 and 27 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., delivered the official figures of the event that reported the presence of 60,926 attendees registered for the most important HVAC fair in the world.
Through a statement, the organizers stressed that despite the ravages caused by winter storm Jonas, including flight cancellations throughout the country and in the Northeast and Atlantic regions, 2016 AHR Expo succeeded in welcoming tens of thousands of contractors and engineers, original equipment manufacturers, distributors and plant managers from all facets of the global HVAC/R industry.
In total, 469,540 square feet of exhibition space were occupied by 2,063 exhibitors, of which 334 participated in the AHR Expo for the first time in 2016. A total of 18,254 professional exhibitors addressed the 42,672 visitors.
The fair was also attended by 561 international exhibitors and 9,410 international visitors were present. Canada's participation in the AHR Expo remained strong during 2016, with 1,312 exhibitors on staff and 2,218 visitors present in Orlando this year.
The event also recognized Aeroseal's Innovation Awards for Duct Sealing Technology as the Product of the Year. With this new technology, Aeroseal has provided the industry's first alternative to traditional manual duct sealing products. The aerosol base solution works from inside the vent wells to "search" and seal leaks, rather than coating the entire inside of the shaft with sealant.
In 2017 the AHR Expo will be in Las Vegas, from January 30 to February 1.
