Mexico. Hanon Systems, a global provider of thermal solutions, plans to start production at a new plant in Monterrey, to support the company's growth strategy and vehicle manufacturers globally.
The new manufacturing plant in Monterrey, called Clima Sistemas Mexicana, will manufacture heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units and cooling modules for several new Kia-branded models.
The facility has nearly 8,300 square meters (approximately 89,000 square feet) of space that incorporates standardized global manufacturing and business processes, and has expansion space to serve future business needs.
"We are excited to grow alongside Kia Motors in Mexico, as well as expand Hanon Systems' global presence in this important region," said In-Young Lee, president and CEO of the company. "The expansion in Monterrey strategically allows Hanon Systems to support vehicle manufacturers from virtually anywhere in Mexico."
With the addition of the Monterrey plant, Hanon Systems has six manufacturing operations of its own in Mexico – four in Ciudad Juarez, in northern Mexico; and one in Queretaro, central Mexico, which began production in September 2014.
Production in Monterrey will begin in the second quarter of 2016.
