United States. A new national program from Carrier and Orca Energy, a leading provider of geothermal utility, is designed to make geothermal heating and cooling more accessible in new homes built.
Orca Energy will provide financing for geothermal ground loops in the new residential developments with the purchase of a geothermal heating and cooling system from Carrier.
Carrier said the agreement with Orca Energy is part of its renewed emphasis on geothermal heating and cooling solutions. It comes as a Carrier launch of its new product line that combines the sustainability and cost savings of geothermal heating and cooling with Infinity series controls. As part of the program, the loop is treated as a utility and as a small monthly payment that is charged to the owners of the house, with no additional upfront costs to the developer, builder or owner.
"Orca Energy is recognized for its geothermal expertise and successful utility model that enables developers, builders and homeowners to cost-effectively install the most energy-efficient option in heating and cooling," said Matthew Pino, vice president of marketing for Carrier HVAC residential. "As experts in heating and cooling, the creation of this program is a natural step. We are thrilled that this program will help homeowners enjoy the cost savings and sustainability of our geothermal solutions."
