International. Danfoss announced that it has acquired dutch software company Advitronic Engineering BV. For Danfoss, the acquisition is "a step forward in solutions related to the Internet of Things and connectivity in the retail food industry."
In addition, for the company the acquisition is part of a strategic approach to strengthen the portfolio of retail food services, benefiting its customers and partners.
Access to all relevant data to retailers is critical to selling the tracking and control of services, and Advitronic Engineering has developed products that enable connectivity between different control systems. Based in Giessen, the Netherlands, Advitronic Engineering was established in 2004. Bringing the two companies together will also benefit customers in terms of lower operating costs and greater energy efficiency.
Henrik Schurmann, Vice President of Food Retail at Danfoss Refrigeration, said: "The investment will provide us with an opportunity to position ourselves as a solution-oriented and an innovative partner in elegant store solutions, and will further enhance the management systems of the Danfoss company. Advitronic Engineering has developed products that allow the capture of data from different products and control systems in supermarkets."
