International. From September 21 to 27, the celebration of the World Sustainable Building Week (Green Building Week) will be taking place, an event that takes place around the world and in which different activities related to the sector are carried out.
This year, the meeting will share the story about how green buildings are the food for positive change in the world. Our buildings consume a third of the world's energy and are responsible for one-fifth of global emissions. This could double or even triple by 2050.
Peru, through the Peruvian Council for Sustainable Construction, is the only Latin American representative in this celebration that includes countries from all regions: The Americas, Africa, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
"Green buildings are driving positive change: cutting energy use and emissions, saving water and preventing waste to landfills, as well as providing healthier places for people," says the event's organization.
The initiative began in 2009 to create a world more connections, more interactivity and more public conversations around the role buildings play in creating a sustainable future.
