Colombia. Coca Cola's headquarters, which is located north of the city of Bogotá, recently obtained the LEED Silver Certification in Commercial Interiors.
The project developed on two floors ( floors 8 and 9), had a constant intervention, from the technical designs to its construction, to ensure that from the beginning all the requirements were met to obtain an integral sustainable space that could be certified.
The Coca Cola project managed to obtain certification after reaching results such as the following:
- 20% Water savings (they have ultra efficient toilets, showers and faucets) -
- 20% Energy savings (lighting with sensors, time control to turn the light on or off, ultra efficient air conditioning, all spaces have access to natural light)
- 10% of the material used in the project is extracted and produced in Colombia
The project was also designed to ensure optimal quality of the indoor environment. For this, measures such as the following were followed:
- The construction process followed a plan that guaranteed a clean work, with strategies such as cutting frames, sander with vacuum cleaner, materials stored in stowage and plastic cutlery, which minimized contamination when installing the finishes.
- All paints and coatings implemented are free of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)
- Additionally, the air is constantly being renewed, guaranteeing cups of comfort and productivity.
