International. The food company Spar is in the process of renewing its diesel fleet by improving its cooling technology, with which it is managing to reduce its carbon footprint, obtain optimal performance and reduce its distribution costs by around 62,000 euros.
For this reason, the manufacturer of temperature control systems, Thermo King, awarded Spar the award for the leader in energy efficiency, which recognizes the commitment to sustainability and efficiency.
The fleet now used by Spar consists of CryoTech refrigeration units that use recycled R-744 refrigerant in a single open loop system, which allows it to achieve a significant reduction in emissions and better performance compared to conventional diesel units. In addition to this, the new units reduced emissions by 400 tons per year and eliminated nitrogen oxide emissions.
