Argentina. According to the newspaper Los Andes, the air conditioning equipment that is arriving in the Mendoza region for the approaching summer season has increases of between 27 and 60% compared to the previous year, for an average of 37%.
Additionally, everything seems to indicate that the systems marketed there are of national manufacture. Economic models that in 2011 had a price of 2,549 pesos (about US $ 537) today are achieved in about $ 3,239 pesos (about US683), that is, an increase of (27%). The same happens with high-end equipment for which today it is paying 33% more than in the previous year.
According to the merchants commented to the local newspaper, the issue of the restriction on imports imposed by the Argentine Government is not the factor that has determined the rise in prices, since they say that the reason is that domestically manufactured equipment is improving in technology and matching imported ones.
The systems that are having the greatest demand are the minisplits and in most cases the client cancels on credit or in the long term despite the difference in rates.
Traders also agree that sales are lower than in 2011, but are optimistic that with the passing of the days profitability could improve.
