Brazil. Within the framework of MercoFrío 2012, which was recently held in Brazil and was organized by the Southern Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating and Ventilation (Asbrav), nearly 300 professionals were trained in sustainable innovations.
The last day was marked by the teachings regarding energy simulations, with the aim of carrying out a sustainable project with LEED certification. This allows us to know the rate of energy consumed by air conditioners, even when everything is just a project. Other topics were discussed, such as the evaluation of the performance of specific equipment, the management of the cold chain and the importance of the Maintenance, Operation and Control Plan (Pmoc) for air-conditioned environments, all in search of the best results with the least possible use of natural resources.
The event also addressed topics such as the proper use of refrigerant fluids. "This element is just as important, because when there is a correct use this contributes to energy savings, but if it is handled incorrectly it contributes to global warming," said the vice president of Asbrav, Mário Alexandre Ferreira.
