International. According to a new report delivered by Bsria, global sales of the air conditioning industry grew by 13% during 2011, a positive figure in the face of the current economic crisis that the European continent is going through.
The global market in this industry increased its sales from $78 billion in 2010 to $82.2 billion in 2011. In Europe, sales of all types of splits increased, sales of chillers have fallen, although there was an increase in the market for central air conditioners, in order to comply with the latest regulations for buildings.
The Americas, which suffered severe damage in the 2009 economic crisis, continue to show signs of recovery. According to the report, Brazil is shown as the country in the region with the strongest growth.
The Asia/Pacific region continues to be the most important in this regard with sales of US$48.2 billion for a growth of 55%. Within that region, China and Japan represent the largest markets with 83% of the market value.
