United States. Some $9 million will be made available to the Department of Energy to fund about 50 small businesses that come up with novel ideas on energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
With this money, companies will be able to develop ideas that seek to improve manufacturing processes, reduce the use of oil and generate electricity through renewable systems.
Through small business transfer programs, the Department of Small Business Innovation and Technology is offering financing for companies, so that they can maintain their rights to the technologies developed and then be commercialized.
The selected SMEs will be able to receive up to US$150,000 and the winners will be able to compete for more than US$1 million for the continuity of their financing that includes 30 sub-themes of areas such as efficient buildings, biomass, solar, wind and hydraulic energy, among others.
