International. Emerson Climate Technologies announced the acquisition of Johnson Controls's line of marine containers and boilers in order to expand its portfolio of refrigeration technologies and products in the global transportation industry. The terms of the negotiation were not disclosed.
This division is responsible for providing the controls for the optimal operation of refrigerated sea containers and marine boilers, along with solutions that monitor and report on refrigeration conditions in large groups of marine containers on land or offshore to ensure product quality and food safety.
Hardware and software solutions monitor container conditions and notify shipping companies and terminals of deviations outside optimal ranges, so they can take appropriate action. Johnson Controls solutions are installed on more than 650,000 containers and 2,200 vessels, which connect to a central monitoring server.
"The monitoring and control of marine containers, together with our technologies in compressors and diagnostics, which are also installed in shipping containers, open the door for us to offer a full range of solutions to help international transport companies and transport managers ensure that their cargo is transported in optimal conditions, "- said Ed Purvis, global business leader at Emerson Climate Technologies.
The official statement indicates that the remaining businesses related to navy and Navy, apart from those acquired by Emerson, will continue to be managed by Johnson Controls.
