Nicaragua. Through the accreditation of its refrigerators, the Association of Exporters of Nicaragua (APEN) recently managed to be received as a member of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA).
More than 1,200 companies from 65 countries around the world are part of the Global Alliance, an institution made up of the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) and the International Cold Store Association (IARW).
The GCCA's main objective is to promote innovative solutions to the efficient refrigeration industry that guarantee the quality and safety of products.
Thanks to this new goal achieved by the APEN, the Association will be able to more easily access technical and economic resources to carry out training, and the commercialization of cold services will be possible with the aim of strengthening the methods and procedures currently used by this organization for temperature control (key in the quality control processes of the products).
Likewise, this fact and the permanent contact with the 65 member countries of the Alliance will allow exporters to connect with companies in the refrigeration industry and generate business opportunities.
According to Azucena Castillo, general manager of APEN, the Association will have a permanent accompaniment of experts who have many years in the industry and will provide specialized technical assistance. "At the same time, our refrigeration services will be backed by the IARW-WFLO seal of quality, ensuring an efficient and quality service to exporting SMEs."
