United States. The Institute of Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration, AHRI, approved the standard for the performance rating of figorific chambers and freezers (AHRI 1250-2009).This new regulation establishes the definitions, testing requirements, qualification, minimum published data requirements for junior, operating and plate personnel, as well as compliance conditions for cold rooms and freezers.
Stephen Yurek, president of AHRI, explained that the achievement of this standard was achieved thanks to the joint work of the government (Department of Energy) and industry, in order to achieve the goals of common energy efficiency. "In this case it is possible to adopt AHRI 1250 as a federal test procedure," he said.
The standard applies to mechanical refrigeration equipment, which consists of a single integrated package of the refrigeration unit, or as an independent unit dependent on cold and another on condensation, where condensation can be located inside or outside. The controls can be integrated or separated, as long as their performance has been approved and certified by a mechanical team on the list.
