The exciting crossroad

La encrucijada emocionante

It's a great time to reflect on the industry's achievements and challenges in 2024. Clearly, it has been a year of significant transformation, marked by technological innovation and a renewed focus on sustainability within the Latin American HVAC-R sector.

By: Álvaro León Pérez Sepúlveda

Thus, we have witnessed the growing adoption of intelligent HVAC systems, equipped with technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) to offer precise and efficient control, optimizing energy consumption and reducing operating costs.

This is just one example, of many possible; But I don't think it's rash to say that technology will continue to be our main driver of change in 2025.

And together with the technological component, the sustainability factor will continue to have a great impact, something that is not surprising.

Sustainability has gone from being an option to becoming an urgent need. In this regard, it is clear that Latin America has moved in the right direction; that is, towards the adoption of ecological refrigerants that reduce environmental impact without compromising efficiency.

Talking about sustainability makes it necessary to mention the key aspect that is energy efficiency.

Energy efficiency remains an essential pillar. And increasingly stringent, standards continue to drive the development of systems that no longer only meet current standards, but also anticipate future regulations.

And when I look to the future, precisely, it seems to me that 2025 is presented as a year in which innovation and sustainability will continue to be dominant trends.

In this context, international cooperation and strategic alliances will be essential to face regional challenges. The HVAC industry in Latin America must continue to adapt to international regulations and actively participate in global initiatives for sustainability and energy efficiency.

In short, we are at an exciting crossroad. The combination of technological innovation and a firm commitment to sustainability is charting the path to a more efficient and responsible future. As 2025 reveals its challenges and opportunities, it will be essential that we continue to work together to consolidate the resilience and strengths of the sector.
