International. Embraco recently unveiled the new version of the Product Selector Software (PSS), multilingual online with technical information on the brand's compressor and condensing unit models.
The PSS, with English, Portuguese and Spanish versions, allows users to choose the best solution according to their local requirements, offering all the necessary information to select the compressor or condensing unit that best suits their needs.
"The most important change in the new version is the custom performance tool and simulated temperature conditions. It is a functionality on the page of each product that allows the user to obtain information on the performance of the equipment, depending on the temperature conditions of the installation site. When the user enters temperature information (condensation, evaporation, liquid/subcooling and return/superheat), it provides specific values for cooling capacity, efficiency, energy consumption and mass flow (gas flow rate)," explains André Rosa, Senior Director of R+D and Product Strategy for the Commercial Appliances business at Nidec Global Appliance.
The tool estimates the performance of the refrigeration equipment under the exact operating conditions of the compressor and thus supports the engineer in choosing the most suitable model for the equipment. "Likewise, the engineer obtains more precise information about the exact point of operation within the system, making the simulation much more faithful to reality. In addition to this accuracy, we can add time savings by reducing repetitive testing," he adds.
The main advantage of this new digital tool within the PSS is that engineers do not need to develop their own simulation for the compressor. "With the customization functionality, the simulation considers physical concepts (such as the thermodynamic properties of fluids and compressor efficiency in each process) in real time," he says.
