On October 29 will take place at the Kursaal in San Sebastian the 2nd Spanish Passivhaus Conference organized by the Passivhaus Building Platform (PEP).

This association was created at the beginning of last year in order to publicize the Passivhaus standard, developed in Germany in the early 90s, and adapt it to the different climates of our country.
Buildings constructed to the standard feature high thermal insulation, rigorous infiltration control and maximum indoor air quality. They take advantage of the sun's energy for air conditioning, with a reduction in energy needs of the order of 75/90% compared to those of conventional buildings.
After the first conference held last autumn in Barcelona in this second edition, examples of energy rehabilitation, tertiary buildings, housing blocks, buildings in Mediterranean climates, aspects related to the connection of the standard with the Technical Code, economic and technical aspects of its implementation, etc. will be raised.
The conference is aimed at professionals in the construction sector, administrations, universities, promoters interested in promoting innovative projects and, in general, the entire industrial sector related to the components of the system: thermal insulation companies, carpentry, glass, ventilation / air conditioning, etc.
Among the collaborators of the Conference are, today, institutions and public companies such as the City Council of San Sebastian, the Basque Government, VISESA, CADEM or the Gipuzkoa delegation of the COAVN and as sponsors companies such as BASF, DUPONT, ISOVER, STO, GUTEX, DU PONT, BLOWER DOOR, SOLER Y PALAU, SOLVIS AND ZEHNDER.
