A few days ago in my house there began to be many ants, unfortunately we had to fumigate (oops) insects usually provoke rejection, although I know for a friend who loves these insects that are fascinating, after the small ants disappeared from my house, I wondered what would be from the ecosystem if they all disappeared.
Whenever we see an ant, they are small, medinas, large, and of all colors, because to date more than 12,500 species of ants have been registered and if we take into account that there are 168,000 ants for each person, it is known that if the ants disappeared the chaos would be catastrophic, the ecosystems would deteriorate quickly and other species would begin to disappear.
To begin with, the ants are able to pollinate, as do the bees but in the earth, they carry the pollen to other nearby plants which allows the fertilization of the plants, in addition the ants comply with the process known scientifically as mirmecocoria, it is about dispersing the seeds that fall from the plants to the ground and thus manage to spread, if we take into account that there are species that prevent the growth of plants around them, it is essential that they move away from each other. Ants are also a large source of some vertebrates such as anteaters and are easy prey for arachnids.
