The ambassador of Chile, Sergio Romero, has expressed, in a meeting with the president of Navarre, Miguel Sanz, the great interest of his country in the renewable energy programs that are developed in Navarra through CENER and different companies in the field of clean energy, such as wind energy.
He also expressed the possibility that the president of the Latin American country, Sebastián Piñera, will visit the Autonomous Community to learn about these projects within the framework of a possible visit to Spain next year.
President Miguel Sanz received in his office at the Palace of Navarre the Ambassador of Chile in Spain, Sergio Romero. The meeting was also attended by the president of the Navarra Chamber, Javier Taberna.
Both commented on the strong Navarrese and especially Baztanese roots that exist in a large part of the population and among business and political leaders. The current president of the country, Sebastián Piñera Echenique, has his maternal surname from Baztan, as reported by the Government in a note.
On the other hand, the Chilean Embassy plans to create a foundation that will enhance commercial and business relations between Spain and Chile. Sanz showed the ambassador the willingness to collaborate in this foundation, since Navarra is interested in enhancing its relationship with Chile, as it is one of the driving countries of the entire Latin American environment.
