The delegate of Iberdrola in the Valencian Community, Julián Bolinches, has visited the facilities of the nursery of the Valencian Association of Charity located in the Valencian town of Torrent, in order to know first-hand the development of the project subsidized by the Iberdrola Foundation to favor the use of renewable energies, as reported in a statement.
The president of the Valencian Association of Charity, Antonio Casanova, has pointed out that the services of the House of Charity "have been progressively expanded", and has highlighted the creation of "a new nursery school for 43 places in which we have installed thermal solar panels to favor the use of renewable energies".
The proposal presented by the Valencian Association of Charity has been selected by the Iberdrola Foundation for its Energy for Solidarity program of social aid 2010. The objective of this initiative is to collaborate with all those projects that contribute to promoting the quality of life of the most disadvantaged groups and the use of clean energy.
As explained by Antonio Casanova, this aid will provide our association "with savings in the cost of the energy bill and we will also achieve greater energy efficiency with the use of environmentally friendly energies".
This centennial institution, which was born in 1906, has the sole purpose of serving people in need by providing breakfast, food, shelter, and psychological care to people without shelter. In addition, for families who lack economic resources, unstructured, single-parent and children with special follow-up by social services, Casa de la Caridad has opened this new nursery school that meets their basic needs from 1 to 3 years old, which also has a training plan for their families regarding food and childcare.
The Iberdrola Foundation, which has Ignacio Galán as Founding Trustee and Manuel Marín as president, began last year a new stage in which it intends to contribute even more actively to improving the quality of life of people and promoting respect for the environment, sustainable development and the conservation of historical-artistic heritage.
