As part of Coca-Cola's commitment to making a positive difference in the world and its firm belief that collaboration and responsible work are the tools to achieve this, the Total Beverage Company participated in the 16th Edition of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 16).
In the framework of the inauguration of COP16, President Felipe Calderón accompanied CEOs of major multinational companies as well as the Director of WWF who met to emphasize the urgent need to build a global low-carbon economy to ensure our prosperity, health and global safety.
In this forum that took place in the city of Cancun, Quintana Roo from November 29 to December 10 of the present, Coca-Cola proposes the construction of a global economy focused on reducing emissions and protecting the environment.
These business leaders exposed both the depth and breadth of the business sector's commitment to climate change action by describing what is already being done and talking about how the collaboration of government and civil society leaders can help accelerate and increase impact.
Likewise, as it is a forum focused on reflection and generation of environmental awareness and under the slogan "Help us recycle and take care of the planet", Coca-Cola, PRONATURA and SEMARNAT, placed 95 containers for the collection and recycling of waste inside and outside the official headquarters of the forum.
With the firm belief that sustainable decision-making will generate tangible change on the planet, Coca-Cola promotes collaboration between governments, companies, non-governmental organizations and civil society.
