An Audi A2 yellow and purple electric car has set a world distance record for a commonly used vehicle, completing the 600km journey from Munich in southern Germany to Berlin without needing to recharge the battery. Powered by Mirko Hannemann, this German electric car from the companies lekker Energie and Energía PDD is here to give a new green definition to sustainable urban transport.
So far, the world has seen electric cars travel only 60 or 70 kilometers on a single charge, but this new record has put other electric vehicles on shame, covering the 372-mile stretch in just seven hours, also on a single charge. The proud team was welcomed in Berlin by Economy Minister Rainer Bruederle, who headed to the cute little car as the champion of a new world record. The team sees gasoline-devouring cars as things of the past and hopes electric cars will dominate the auto industry in the future.
