The head of the Secretariat of the Environment and Sustainable Development of Jalisco (Semades), Martha Ruth del Toro, reported that the aforementioned Alteña region was chosen, because it was the most favorable place for the use of wind energy, after a study that involved the consideration of several places with wind potential. The wind farm will have 30 megawatts initially and another 50 MW in a second stage. The official stressed that the investment of this wind project is in charge of private entrepreneurs, so that the authorities of the energy sector have only given the necessary facilities for its execution.
