Argentina. Altman Eco Office is the first building in that country to obtain the LEED Platinum Core & Shell Version 2009 certification with 84 points out of a total of 110 possible.
This certification is a validation for the project for using sustainable strategies in the materials and methods in the development of the work prior to its completion. It is the fifth project in the world presented with the 2009 version.
Altman Eco Office opted for regional materials for construction, since the use of those made in nearby regions supports the local economy and reduces transport costs and pollution.
Some technical characteristics of the project were:
- The façade is made of high performance double hermetic glazed glass (DVH) with UV filter. The structure is made of anodized aluminum.
- Reinforced concrete structure with post-tensioned ribbed slabs.
- Double emergency ladder according to NFPA standards.
- Double height access hall.
- Garage entrances with automated gates and barriers.
- Access to subsoil with automated barriers.
- Security and monitoring systems. Centralized and adaptable access controls.
- 3 state-of-the-art Thyssen Krupp lift cars.
- VRF Heat Recovery air conditioning system.
- Toilets lined in first line porcelain.
- The retreats and terraces have selected native vegetation and an irrigation system based on the reuse of the building's grey water.
- Recycling of waste from the beginning of the work and in the operation of the building.
- Storage space for bicycles and changing rooms with showers for cyclists.
- All offices are delivered with air conditioning equipment.
- All offices are delivered with lighting fixtures, and the user can arrange them according to their own lay out.
