Colombia. The Energy Mining Planning Unit (UPME) granted the first technical certificate to obtain the benefit of the VAT exclusion to the company Synkrom Solar S.A.S. that is currently executing a 111 kW photovoltaic solution project for an industrial winery.
This is given as part of the procedures to access the tax incentives regulated in Resolution 045 of 2016.
The project consists of the location of 400 solar panels, whose total investment amounts to $198 million, of which $31 million correspond to VAT, which will be deducted as a result of obtaining the incentive.
"From the UPME we celebrate the great reception among investors interested in accessing the tax incentives of the Renewable Energy Law, which has resulted in this first certification endorsed by our technicians. In this way, we continue with our commitment to diversify the country's energy basket," Jorge Valencia, general director of the UPME, told local media.
After certification, the company will now submit the certificate to the National Environmental Licensing Authority (Anla).
