Mexico. An average of a thousand air conditioning units will be necessary to cover 500 classrooms, as explained by the first lady of the province of San Luis Río Colorado (Mexico), Perla Peralta de Baldenebro, referring to the initiative that seeks to offer better conditions of air conditioning and comfort for the student children of the city.
Both businessmen and merchants and civil groups support this effort, so they met recently together with Mrs. Peralta and her husband, Mayor Manuel de Jesús Baldenebro and Professor Claudia Valdez on behalf of the student union. Peralta explained that the temperature in San Luis has reached 40 degrees Celsius, and therefore "it is essential to make San Luis children have a place suitable for school development, since a space without refrigeration reduces the attention span by 40%." The mayor of The Municipality indicated that to meet the goal of all schools in San Luis having air conditioning , an investment of five million Mexican pesos (about US $ 360,000) is required and added that the "refris" will be a good of the entire city, so they will be taken care of as their own. During the meeting the attendees confirmed this sentence offering their support to the initiative, even some companies donated 27 air conditioning equipment and 10 prizes to collect funds.
