Chile. Chile's refrigeration and air conditioning industry now has a Clean Production Agreement (CPA) "Sustainable Management of Zero Leakage Refrigerants," according to the Ozone Unit of the South American country's Ministry of the Environment.
This initiative, promoted by the Chilean Chamber of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning A.G. and Corfo's Agency for Sustainability and Climate Change, seeks to reduce the use of gases such as HCFCs and HFCs, and improve energy efficiency throughout the country.
The APL has the support of the Ministries of Energy, Environment and Health, as well as other entities such as Sence Chile (National Training and Employment Service) and ChileValora, who will work together to promote the adoption of sustainable technologies and the monitoring of emissions in the sector.
Objectives of the APL
- Monitoring and reducing refrigerant leaks.
- Training in good practices and new technologies.
- Promotion of recycling and the circular economy.
- Contribution to the goals of carbon neutrality and environmental protection.
