International. Reliable Controls recently announced the release of an optional particle sensor (PM2.5) for its MACH-ProView™ controllers.
The PM sensor option for these products complements the company's existing volatile organic compound and carbon dioxide sensor options to provide a complete indoor air quality solution for the built environment.
The PM sensor available for MACH-ProView controllers is the Sensirion SPS30, which offers accurate measurement of dust and other particles to determine air quality in a space based on laser scattering. PM2.5 refers to particles in the air that are 2.5 microns wide or less, about 30 times smaller than the width of a human hair. PM2.5 particles are among the most dangerous air pollutants; Their small size means they can travel deep into the respiratory tract and cause a variety of health problems.
"In our post-pandemic life, indoor air quality is one of the highest priority concerns for many people," says Cameron Lutz, senior marketing manager at Reliable Controls. "We spend on average 90 percent of our time indoors. Being able to accurately measure and control environmental variables is a tangible benefit for every occupant in every segment of the built environment. Reliable Controls is at the forefront with a variety of high-quality, well-priced detection options to meet this demand."
Sensors are a crucial component of any building automation system, collecting data inputs that are used to control ventilation, air filtration, and other equipment. Building owners can rely on Reliable Controls technologies to monitor indoor air quality in their facilities. Whether they need to measure particles, volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, relative humidity or temperature, Reliable Controls has sensor options to meet a variety of needs.
